In this tour, the Leipzig-born performer Rike Flämig will share hidden and discomforting truths about the playground of her childhood and its surrounding sites: childrens’ games juxtapose the difficult realities of dictatorship; official buildings are revealed as death sites; mundane pathways tell baring stories of Leipzig’s recent revolution; and a short hike offers space for reflection. Site efFacts shifts between playfulness and mourning, physical exercises and processing rituals. It positions the participant between the personal and the political.

Rike Flämig is a Leipzig born performer and choreographer based in Berlin who focusses on site specific work and participatory projects with young performers and time witnesses. She studied Performance Art and Contemporary Dance, Theology & Cultural Science. She likes to create dance pieces and performance art works where daily life specialists share their perspectives (e.g. Kickstart (2010), H20 (2012)) and creates works with time witness and young people on historical friction such as the Holocaust and on the Peaceful Revolution (e.g. Exodus reloaded (2012), Eyes Open ( 2014) and gethsemane 89 (2014). In her individual and collaborative works she creates Site Specific Performances on Space and Borders: On Flying, (Tempelhofer Feld, 2010), Freigang, (Prison Neukölln, 2011), Disruptions (Palestine Wall 2014). In her latest performance Border Spaces (German - Polish Border, 2014) she takes the audience on a trip into questioning borders by guiding them into participation and dancing for them while making them face harsh facts.
